Recipe: Blue Beauty Refresher

If your skin is becoming irritated or inflamed as we begin the descent into autumn, you’re not alone! We are currently in the late summer season of TCM, which prioritizes digestion; as we all know, when digestion is off it can easily manifest in the skin. Seasonal transitions in general can be somewhat destabilizing, and it’s wise to support our adaptability to external changes by supporting our internal recalibration process. This recipe features our Beauty Blend, a synergistic ode to the connection between inner harmony and outer radiance that also happens to offer comprehensive season-specific support. While the benefits go far beyond the skin deep, your skin will thank you, too. 


Beauty Blend benefits for the transitional season:

  • It contains supportive herbs for digestive health, including by nourishing the Stomach (Tremella) and Spleen (He Shou Wu).
  • Offers adaptogenic and derma-protective properties (Schizandra) for fortifying oneself to seasonal changes and external elements/irritants.
  • Nourishes and (re)balances all Three Treasures, thus supporting a strong constitutional foundation that flourishes as radiant eyes, hair, skin, and nails.
  • Supports the assimilation of Qi that is so important in this fifth season through bioavailable nutrient density (Pearl), helping to fulfill nutritional gaps.

½ C still water

½ tsp Blue Spirulina 

½ tsp Beauty Blend 

¼ tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp honey

1 C sparkling water

¼ C ice

Dollop of whipped cream (optional)


Preparation Method:

  • Add the still water, powdered herbs, honey, and vanilla to a glass (if using a milk frother) or blender to integrate and then pour into a glass,
  • Add ice and fill to the top with sparkling water,
  • Add the dollop of whipped cream for extra decadence!
